Yogen Fruz

Challenge: Yogen Fruz is a well-known frozen yogurt chain brand in Canada, with over 1,000 stores worldwide. As a graphic designer, my primary responsibilities include enhancing and updating the brand guidelines based on the production of various electronic and physical materials, to more clearly communicate the brand image to customers. Additionally, I am tasked with conceptualizing and designing creative and trending social media content to support marketing efforts and expand the brand’s influence. Furthermore, I need to thoroughly understand the visual styles and positioning of multiple brands to ensure successful collaborations between Yogen Fruz and other brands.

Solution: Focusing on Yogen Früz's friendly and fresh brand image, collaborated with major brands such as Netflix, NinjaShark, Hershey, and Kernels to create a series of innovative and distinctive electronic and print materials. These designs supported the opening of new stores, social media campaigns, promotions, and partnership events, all while maintaining the brand's unique characteristics.

A Frame Poster

In the new Yorkdale location, we designed promotional posters that seamlessly blend the distinctive characteristics of both Yogen Fruz and Kernels.

 

These designs capture the playful spirit of Kernels and the minimalist elegance of Yogen Fruz, while also aligning with the store's overall aesthetic. The result is the clear, eye-catching poster successfully boosted product sales.

To celebrate the opening of the new store, I designed an email newsletter for customers. With the cute popcorn characters and the bright colors of Yogen Fruz, the entire email was creative and attractive.

 

It successfully made the opening of the new store, gained long line up during the opening week.

Yogen Fruz x Kernels: Yorkdale Location

For our collaboration with the famous electronic brand Ninja Shark, I designed a giveaway post on Instagram that garnered over 700+ likes and 1,700+ comments. Within just four days, the account gained more than 600+ new followers.

 

I also created motion graphic ads for Google, contributing to the overall success of the campaign.

In collaboration with Netflix's children's show Unicorn Academy, we introduced a series of delicious frozen yogurt flavors inspired by the show's characters. This partnership led to a 16% increase in sales compared to the previous quarter.

 

I spearheaded the design for our Instagram feed, creating six cohesive posts that seamlessly merged the brand identities of both Unicorn Academy and our frozen yogurt chain. The giveaway video I designed garnered over 11.7k views and more than 350 engagements, demonstrating the success of our collaborative campaign.

I also created multiple posters, inserts, stickers, banners, and more for a variety of printed assets, gaining expertise in the specifications of different printing materials throughout the production process. Including irregular shaped die-line. 

In the flavors of the collaboration with Hershey's brand Jolly Rancher, due to Hershey's strict brand requirements, the overall style is more Jolly Rancher, but retains the characteristics of yogurty.

 

I designed a series of assets, including digital banners, POS display, promoscreen and social media.

To effectively convey promotions and holiday greetings to both customers and employees, I designed a series of vibrant email newsletters. Each newsletter features colorful designs and engaging motion graphic elements, which help capture attention in today's fast-paced world.

 

The cheerful and lively visuals make the emails more engaging and enjoyable to read, preventing them from feeling dull or tiring. As a result, these emails have successfully increased click-through rates and enhanced the participation in various activities.  (JOLLY RANCHER trademark and trade dress and the character images are used under license.)

I was also responsible for the brand's image design on LinkedIn. By publishing monthly outstanding employees, I established a good brand image and gained 300+ new followers in three months.
