Plan Group
Challenge: Plan Group is a construction company based in Toronto, as a junior graphic designer, it is essential for me to adhere to Plan Group's brand guidelines. I am tasked with creating a range of design projects that highlight the company's commitment to promoting construction site safety, fostering an inclusive and diverse working environment , and showcasing its vibrant corporate event culture.
Solution: Adhering to the company's minimalist design and color scheme, I have independently created numerous promotional materials like social media posts, posters, banners, stickers, brochures, letterhead templates, postcards, and videos. By incorporating my personal style, including digital illustrations and graphic elements, I have crafted unique and captivating designs that effectively convey the company's commitment to fostering a healthy and inclusive working environment for all.

During my internship, I placed great emphasis on promoting inclusivity. In the architecture industry, stereotypes often lead us to perceive engineers and workers as predominantly male, overlooking the many talented women who hold these positions. Consequently, when designing personal protective equipment (PPE) posters for the company, I incorporated designs representing different genders and skin tones to showcase inclusivity.
I also integrated the company's clean and minimalist brand style by neatly arranging safety equipment icons around the characters. The warning messages were direct, clear, and easy to read, effectively reminding workers of safety protocols. When designing the posters, I paid special attention to the fusion of information and visuals. Carefully adjusting and arranging the text ensured that the layout of the posters was not overly crowded while remaining easily readable. Furthermore, the embellishment of visual effects prevented the posters from appearing monotonous and effectively highlighted each poster's theme.
When designing the brochure, I incorporated simple and clean mechanical graphic elements, in line with the style and colors of the brand guidelines. This design approach resulted in a minimalistic and elegant brochure, while also emphasizing the typography to ensure that the content on each page is easy to read. The design of this brochure not only showcases the company's meticulous attitude but also aligns with the theme of technology.
During Women Construction Week, I took charge of using a handheld camera to shoot footage and edited an interview video about Estelle using After Effects. Through her description of her own experiences and stories, the video showcased the equal abilities of women and men, breaking stereotypes and biases against female construction workers. This video not only received positive feedback when it was screened within the company, but also gained 1000+ views on social media.
